Enrollment Process

Policies and Procedures

Bright Horizons Family Solutions manages a consolidated wait list for The Children’s Center at Milton Academy. The primary contact for wait pool information is the Center Director, at 617-898-1681.

The center is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Care and Education for a maximum of 7 infants (ages 6 weeks through 15 months), 9 toddlers (15 months through 2 years 9 months), and preschool aged children (2 years 9 months through 6 years).

Priority Categories

  • Consistent with the center’s focus on building family partnership, first priority will be given to children currently enrolled in the center, then to siblings of currently enrolled children.
  • Second priority is given to children of Milton Academy employees. Spaces will be given first to full time employees then to part time employees based on registration date (when pre-enrollment registration form and fee are received at the center).
  • Third priority is given to children of employees of The Children’s Center at Milton Academy based on length of employment at the center.
  • Community placements are made after all prioritized families have been accommodated.
  • Full-time enrollments will be given priority over part-time enrollments within each priority category outlined above.

Registration and Enrollment Fees
Families may join the wait list by submitting a completed Pre-Enrollment Registration form and a non-refundable one time registration fee of $100 per child. A child’s placement on the wait list is determined by the above listed priorities and the date that the registration forms and fee are received by the Center Director. When a spot becomes available, it can be reserved by submitting a non-refundable $250 deposit which is applied to first month’s tuition. Upon enrollment, a non-refundable one time enrollment fee of $150 is due.

Enrolled families who withdraw (other than the 10 month enrollment cycle available to employees of Milton Academy) and wish to re-enroll will be required to re-register and re-pay the registration fee. Continual enrollment and 10 month enrollment for Milton Academy families will not require re-payment of the registration fee.

Enrollment Deposit
The Center Director will contact the family when a space becomes available. Families may reserve the space offered by submitting a non refundable $250 deposit which will be applied to your first month’s tuition. Prior to enrollment, the Center Director will schedule a time for you to meet with your child’s primary caregivers to learn more about The Children’s Center at Milton Academy’s program and develop a visitation schedule for you and your child. The Director will review the parent/guardian policies/procedures and enrollment forms at that time.

Milton Academy employees wishing to enroll after September 1 may reserve a slot for October or November enrollment by paying 50% of the tuition rate for up to two months.

10 Month Enrollment
All Families are offered open enrollment throughout the year based on availability of space. Milton Academy faculty and staff are offered the option of a 10 month enrollment, from September 1 through June 30. Withdrawal is allowed only from July 1 through August 31 with no financial obligation. Families opting for 10 month enrollment are asked to notify the center by re-enrollment time each winter.

Re-enrollment
Each winter, The Children’s Center at Milton Academy will send out re-enrollment forms to all currently enrolled families. This form must be returned to the center by March 31 in order to hold your child’s spot, including newly enrolling siblings. This re-enrollment process helps identify parent’s commitment to a space in the program for fall and allows us to plan accordingly. Families who choose to register following this date will be granted space according to the priorities and fees outlined above for re-enrollment. Re-enrolling families will receive an enrollment offer letter in May. If accepting enrollment, parents will be asked to return completed enrollment offer letter, enrollment packet and recent immunizations by June 1. Up-to-date immunizations, including a varicella vaccine as well as a lead test and physical within the past year, are required prior to enrollment. Upon re-registration, Milton Academy families with 10 month enrollment will be expected to submit a deposit of $250 which will be applied to September tuition.

Final decisions on enrollment rest with the director.
